How To Drink More Water
There is one FREE thing all of us can do today to improve our health: drink water!
Being hydrated helps our body get rid of toxins, prevents head aches, improves skin complexion and so much more (read about more benefits here ). So if drinking water is free, and helps our body function much better, then why is the average American only drinking 20 ounces of water a day?!
Multiple sources say that it’s best if you drink half your body weight in ounces of water each day (for example if you weigh 200 pounds, you should drink 100 ounces of water daily)!
Here are few tips on how to drink more water in your daily routine:
1) Get a really cool water bottle.
Seriously, when you invest in an aesthetically pleasing, personality encompassing Hydroflask or Swell bottle (my faves linked!) you are subconsciously saying to your brain, “Drinking water is important! So important, in fact, that I spent $30 on this fancy water bottle! Also, drinking water is sexy and cute, because my water bottle sure is!”
2) Take your water bottle everywhere!
When you’re traveling, when you’re working, when you’re working out, when you’re out with friends…BRING YOUR WATER BOTTLE! Just having it with you is a guarantee that you’ll have the option to choose water.
3) Spice it up!
In our house anything with carbonation is “Spicy Water” because Leo does not like bubbly drinks. So, when you get bored of just plain water, grab a spicy water! One of my favorites is Topo Chico— if you haven’t tried this Mexican Mineral water yet, do yourself a favor and click the photo and get some ASAP on Amazon Prime, it’s that good.
4) Put the lime in the water bottle!
Citrus is a great way to liven up plain water. I love putting the lemon and lime juice in my water, but you can add any citrus or fruit for that matter to change the taste of your water. Here is a fun tool I’ve been using recently to spray fresh lemon/lime juice in my drinks!
